Rediscover stories of hawkers and market stall owners of a pasar bulat (wet market), its legacy, and its relevance in today’s age of supermarkets.
This interactive contemporary dance performance is set against the backdrop of the Tampines Round Market, and takes inspiration from stories of residents who recount how life in erstwhile Tampines used to be.

A passport summarises you in an instant. It opens up the world or damns you to bureaucratic hell. It affirms your identity or is just a booklet with benefits. A way out or a guarantee of a home to come back to.
What do passports mean to you?
For PASSPORT, 6 artists were paired with local hosts. Passports prompted conversations about identity, belonging, home, privilege and even love. Each artist worked with their hosts to create new artworks and experiences. Come see them in March through a series of pop-up experiences in different locations across the island.

The Singapore Heritage Festival (SHF) 2019 will be a special Singapore Bicentennial edition, with themes and programmes that will explore and commemorate this important juncture in our history. This year, the festival will take place over four weekends with events and programmes centred around precincts such as Kampong Gelam and Bedok. The Peculiar Tra La by Intercultural Theatre Institute, 14 – 16 March, Drama Centre Black Box

Join us in the tra la, that familiar yet unfamiliar place of the in-between, and rediscover your sense of wonder.
Veteran director Ang Gey Pin guides the graduating cohort of actor-students from Intercultural Theatre Institute (ITI) in devising an original production that weaves together legends, riddles and the actors’ individual stories with ITI’s unique intercultural training.
Moving, mesmerising and evocative, The Peculiar Tra La is a whimsical journey through stories, the imagination and the in-between.
A new work directed by Ang Gey Pin co-created with dramaturg Ranice Tay and the graduating class of 2019.

A Disappearing Number by NUS Stage, directed by Edith Podesta, part of the NUS Arts Festival 2019, 15 March 8pm at the University Cultural Centre Hall
NUS Centre For the Arts unveils a new staging of Complicité UK’s exquisite, internationally acclaimed play about love, math, and how the past and future connect.
In 1913, a clerk in rural India named Srinivasa Ramanujan sends a letter to famed mathematician G. H. Hardy, filled with astonishing mathematical theorems. In the present, a math professor and a businessman fall in love. Winner of the 2007 Critics’ Circle Theatre, Evening Standard, and Laurence Olivier awards for Best New Play, the play blends the beauty of everyday relationships with the mysticism of the cosmos in a fascinating whirlwind of vignettes spanning history and time. This extraordinary work of visual and physical theatre will be directed by award-winning director Edith Podesta (Dark Room, Bitch: The Origin of the Female Species, The Golden Record) and feature Remesh Panicker (The Merchant of Venice), Koh Wan Ching (Mortal Sole) and Pavan J Singh (Chinatown Crossings) alongside the creative talents of Brian Gothong Tan, Steve Kwek and Teo Wee Boon with students from NUS Stage.
