Concerned Minds – Public Talk by Mindy Tan, Koh Kim Chay, Fable @ DECK, 22 July 3 – 5 pm.
In conjunction with STATE OF CHANGE, Concerned Minds is an afternoon dialogue with photographers and creatives on their individual approaches to the constant renewal of urban planning in Singapore.
Mindy Tan is a successful commercial photographer who feels an urgent need to document the voices of the last residents of Rochor Centre through photography and video footages. Similarly, creative agency, Fable, started an independent magazine titled “Virus” to raise awareness of topics in Singapore that may otherwise be undiscussed. Likewise, Koh Kim Chay, a silent observer of change in Singapore has taken upon himself to document disappearing landscapes in Singapore over the last 3 decades, and most recently has co-published a book titled “Singapore’s Vanished Public Housing Estates”.
The dialogue session will be facilitated by Gwen Lee, Director of DECK.
Story Party Singapore | Dating Stories (in English), 17 – 18 July, 9pm @ Blu Jaz Cafe
Story Party is a show where you’ll hear professional storytellers talk about a time they got played, made, or just tangled up in that love stuff. The show runs approximately one hour followed by a chance to laugh and drink some more.
Story Party is an award winning “Online Dating Alternative” with drinks, people to meet, and true dating stories told to a beat. We are in town for one night only. It could be the story of how you two met. Or not, who cares, it’ll be fun, just come.

Hoarders, 21 – 22 July, 3 pm & 8 pm @ Centre 42
Experimental Arts Theatre presents its 2017 stageplay, Hoarders.
Traumatised and still grieving from the passing of her eldest son, Agnes Lim, found a sense of security by keeping all things that would remind her of him. Eventually, she developed an addiction that threatens the relationship with her husband, Eric Tan, and her daughter, Julie Tan.
But how far would you go to hold on to the memories of those who passed? What should you do to come to terms with the death of a loved one?

ArtScience Late: Lalu Lalang Lab, 7 pm – 10 pm, 20 July @ Artscience Museum
In Charting the Multiverse of Our Dreams, performance collective Lalu Lalang Laboratory (L3) explores ideas of genesis, cosmological cycles and alternative futures, interweaving personal journeys that are entwined with their artistic practices. Impromptu play and extemporaneous divertissement play out in a dialogue of poetry and science, through vignettes of sound, dance and projection.
A multitude of focal points all coming together at once, this new synergy of ideas and energies will manifest in a provocative experiment. You are invited to participate by making playful decisions as consumers of the arts.
