[Singapore] Sing Lit Station HALP Fund
The HALP Fund is a discretionary fund used by Sing Lit Station to support literary arts practitioners in the creation and presentation of their work in any form. It also aims to provide subsistence funds during tough times. The maximum quantum will be $500 per application. Applications will be held year-round until 31 March 2021 or until funds are fully disbursed, whichever comes first.

Singapore Association of Motion Picture Professionals are offering grants for filmmakers and others in the film industry.
[Singapore] SkillsFuture Top-Up
Adult Singaporeans aged 25 and above will receive a one-off $500 SkillsFuture Credit top-up. Eligible individuals can start using the additional credit from 1 October 2020. Singaporeans aged 40 to 60 will receive a special $500 SkillsFuture Credit top-up. This will be over and above the $500 SkillsFuture Credit top-up for Singapore Citizens aged 25 and above. Eligible individuals can start using the SkillsFuture Credit provided under this package from 1 October 2020, on about 200 career transition programmes offered by the Continuing Education and Training (CET) Centres.
[Singapore] Self-Employed Persons Training Support Scheme
All Self-Employed Persons will be entitled to between $7.50-$11 an hour of training allowance for SkillsFuture series courses and selected sector-specific training programmes. This will be administered by NTUC.

[Singapore] Singapore Unbound Relief Fund (SURF)
Singapore Unbound has decided to postpone this year’s writing fellowships to Southeast Asia and to commit the funds instead to aid Singaporean writers badly affected by the shutdowns. Creative writers, whether they are Singapore citizens living anywhere in the world or Permanent Residents of Singapore, may apply for a USD200/SGD280 grant from the Singapore Unbound Relief Fund with no strings attached. This fund is specifically intended to help those in dire need of immediate help. Donations to this fund are also welcome.

Call for Abstracts: Sabang: Early Southeast Asian-European Intercultural Encounters
The Asian Center, University of the Philippines Diliman welcomes abstract submissions for an international conference, “Sabang: Early Southeast Asian-European Intercultural Encounters,” which will be held—via Zoom—from 18 to 20 March 2021.
The word “Sabang” in Visayan and several other Philippine languages refers to the juncture of bodies of water; it encapsulates the meeting of cultures and the centrality of the Philippines in Southeast Asia-Europe exchanges. “Sabang: Early Southeast Asian-European Intercultural Encounters” aims to discuss the varied cultural legacies of this encounter.

Open Call: Australia-Singapore Digital Residencies
The Australia Council for the Arts and the National Arts Council Singapore are jointly administering the second iteration of a set of reciprocal digital residencies between Australia and Singapore. The opportunity is designed to seed research on artistic practice and collaborative processes between artists from the two countries, with the potential to spark new connections or deepen existing relationships which may result in co-creation of new work.

Open Call: PICA Interdisciplinary Lab: Encounter, Practice, Play
In 2021, the Perth Institute of Contemporary Arts (PICA) will host the first of a three-year artist exchange and professional development program with Australian and South and Southeast Asian artists. In 2021, this will include three artist labs led by Australian artists Joel Bray and Eugenia Lim, and will focus on interdisciplinary and intercultural practice through discussion, practice sharing and workshops. The labs will be an experiment in finding innovative ways of fostering togetherness and embodied practice, even when we must remain physically separated.

Open Call: Rimbun Dahan 2021 Residencies
Applications are now open only for Malaysian artists for residencies at Rimbun Dahan from April to December 2021. For artists from any discipline (visual arts, performing arts, writers, etc) and arts managers who are Malaysian citizens and currently based in Malaysia.
The residencies provide an opportunity to live and work at Rimbun Dahan, and can run from 1 to 3 months. We provide workspace and accommodation in a 14-acre indigenous garden setting, 45 minutes’ drive from Kuala Lumpur city centre. This residency is recommended for artists seeking solitude, silence and/or space to focus on their work.

Open Call: SAM Residencies 2021
SAM Residencies is now accepting applications for the 2021 cycle for three residencies – the Artist Residency (6 months); Community & Education Residency (1-3 months); and Curatorial & Research Residency (1-3 months). Selected residents will be hosted in Singapore between July 2021 and March 2023.
Open to both Singapore-based and international practitioners, across all discipline of the arts, the 2021 cycle focuses on processes and practices which engage with:
– Notions of “intimacy” and/or “infrastructures”
– Impact on technology on contemporary life – sociability of the internet; connectivity and capacity of networked platforms; agency and empowerment in civic technology; and digital participatory platforms

Submissions open: Julius Baer Next Generation Art Prize
The Julius Baer Next Generation Art Prize is for young Southeast Asian artists who create digital art – working with a medium of the future. The Prize is focused on awarding artists working with the digital image. There are two categories of submission: still images and moving images. The prize is open to residents of Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Timor-Leste and Vietnam; who are aged 18 to 40 years old, as of 28 February 2021.

2020 has left us bereft, in a rage and desperate for aid—and for justice. But it has also been a year where many amongst us decided to rise up, fuelling our rage with love and duty. 2020 has been a year where we offered help generously: through families and friends, participation in grassroots organisations, mutual aid initiatives, impromptu emergency relief.
For Fringe 2022, we invite you to consider how, in spite of these despairing times, our collective universe of obligation can expand in defiance, to offer optimism, hope and healing. How can we propel a politics of care—one that focuses on compassion and the wellbeing of all, be they kin, community, citizens and our environment?

The Christian faith has generated a rich literary tradition. Much of its spiritual writing has been in the form of religious poetry, which has become much loved. How do you, the contemporary writer, understand the Christian faith today? Who is God to you? What are your most pressing questions, and what have been your greatest struggles and triumphs? New Awards for the Best Undergraduate Critical Essays on Singapore Literature
Singapore Unbound, a NYC-based literary non-profit, has just announced three awards of USD250.00 each for the best three undergraduate critical essays on topics in Singapore literature. The Tiger Moth Review, a new and independent eco-conscious journal from Singapore, is calling for submissions of poetry, prose, art and photography that emphasises the connections between “human activity and the environment that produces it”, work that displays an “awareness of ecology and concerns over environmental disaster” (“Ecopoetics”, Poetry Foundation).
They are looking for work that is eco-conscious and critical, work that celebrates the beauty/ bounty of nature, work that is cognisant, curious and contemplative of the relationships between humanity, modernity, cultures and the environments in which we live in or imagine ourselves to inhabit.
