Open Call: Frankfurt Moves! FRANKFURT LAB RESIDENCY PROGRAMME

In the framework of the Residency Programme Frankfurt Moves! the foundation KfW Stiftung and the Frankfurt LAB invite you to develop artistic productions in the fields of the performing arts and to exchange ideas with other creative artists. The Artists in Residence will be invited to Frankfurt am Main, a German metropolis in the heart of Europe, for a period of four weeks. The teams will be able to access the professional venues of the Frankfurt LAB and will be provided with dramaturgic and technical support. At the end of the residency, it will be possible to present the results of the work publicly.

In 2022 a total of four residencies at the Frankfurt LAB will be made available for the following time period: 19 July to 19 August 2022

Call for Submissions: FISH EATS LION REDUX

2022 will see the ten-year anniversary of the groundbreaking publication of Fish Eats Lion: New Singaporean Speculative Fiction. Editor Jason Erik Lundberg is seeking submissions for Fish Eats Lion Redux, to be published in late 2022 by Epigram Books, of new and innovative original short speculative fiction in English.

The story should be at least fulfil one of the following:

– your protagonist is Singaporean (i.e. born or naturalised in Singapore),
– your protagonist (Singaporean or otherwise) is living in Singapore at the time of your story (i.e. Singapore is the setting), OR
– your story’s themes are inspired by life in Singapore.

Stories are recommended to be between 3,000 and 5,000 words, with a maximum of 7,500 words.

SCCC: Open Call for Programming Ideas

As part of the SCCC’s aim to promote Chinese Singaporean art and culture, it is inviting Singapore-based artists, organisations and community partners to submit their proposals for programmes to be held at our centre. The proposed projects could be presented in any format and need not be limited to exhibitions, guided tours, workshops, talks, conferences, performances, demonstrations, film screenings or educational courses.

SCCC: Chinese Arts and Culture Research Grant

The Chinese Arts and Culture Research Grant is an initiative introduced by the Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre in 2018. Its goal is to fund research projects related to Chinese visual arts, performing arts, culture and impact, and/or contribution of these Chinese visual arts and performing arts on Chinese identity and culture in Singapore.

This grant aims to engage and encourage local institutes of higher learnings, think-tanks and academics to:

– Document and conduct research on different aspects of Singapore’s Chinese arts and culture that are of interest to SCCC
– Strengthen SCCC’s arts and culture resources and research capabilities

SCCC: Publication Grant

The objective of the Publication Grant is to disseminate research on Chinese Singapore culture conducted by institutes of higher learning, think-tanks, researchers and academics. This Grant will support publications in the following areas of research: Chinese visual arts, Chinese performing arts, Chinese culture, and Chinese Singaporean identity.

The maximum grant quantum for the project is 50% of the project funding subject to a cap of S$50,000 per project.
