Women in Photography 2016
Venue: Objectifs Centre for Photography and Film

The second edition of Objectifs’ annual Women in Photography programme, co-presented with the Magnum Foundation, features photographic series from various regions, by a diverse group of 18 contemporary female artists associated with Magnum. Presented in conjunction with Women in Film, a series of movie screenings showcasing female directors.

A familiar name in the growing spoken word scene, poet and recent Young Artist Award recipient Pooja Nansi ew-stages, for the third time, an intimate solo show incorporating song, verse and storytelling, seeking to explore notions of ethnicity, belonging and cultural identity in Singapore.

Wild Rice re-stages its award-winning family-friendly fantasy adventure musical based on the classic Chinese epic fable, retold through Alfian Sa’at’s words, Elaine Chan’s music and Sebastian Tan’s direction. The show stars Chua Enlai, Siti Khalijah Zainal, and Sugie Phua as the Monkey King.

Painted Shadows: A Queer Haunting of the National Gallery

Writer and activist Ng Yi-Sheng offers unique learning journey of queer art history via a guided walkthrough of the exhibits at the National Gallery Singapore. This activity is part of the Substation’s “The School of Uncommon Knowledge” series of workshops and talks.
A Manifesto Residency

This workshop is a discursive class where participants explore manifestos what goes into writing and reading them.
