Prabu Perdana – Artist Collaboration Month, Now – 26 September 2017, SemAta Gallery, Bandung

SemAta Gallery is one of the very few art galleries that focus on children. It is a children art center in Bandung that presents various projects, activities, and exhibitions for children. For the current Artist Collaboration Month, SemAta presents Prabu Perdana works. The gallery also invites children to collaborate and learn drawing methods of everyday objects from Prabu himself. Sharing Session by Galuh Pangestri, 23 September 2017, 5-7 PM, Bandung

Bandung Dancers! Inspyro Moves invites Galuh Pangestri to share about fluidity in contemporary dace. Galuh grew up studying traditional dance in Indonesia. She then expanded her vocabulary by taking ballet, jazz, and contemporary dances through various Masterclasses. Galuh has been part of various cultural missions to Russia and China, and has done various collaborations with visual artists in the last view years. 100% Manusia Film Festival, 22 September – 1 October, Various Locations, Jakarta

100% Manusia Film Festival is a movement that aims to promote awareness on various diversity issues that relate to human rights, as well as minority issues related to gender, different abilities, and human trafficking. The films will be shown at various locations including Kineforum, Paviliun 28, Sekolah Tinggi Teologi Jakarta, Goethe-Institut Jakarta, Erasmus Huis, and Institut Francais in Indonesia, Jakarta. The Girl of The Air, 23 September 2017, 1 PM & 7 PM, Taman Ismail Marzuki, Jakarta

Magali Saby is an actor, choreographer, and dancer that constantly questions the relationship between dance, arts, and different-able bodies in her work. She also explores the role of women in our contemporary society, as well as the place of people with different abilities in our society. Magali Saby will show her work The Girl of the Air as part of the 2nd Indonesian Ballet Gala. In it, she collaborates with selveral indonesian dancers Nudiandra Sarasvati, Irfan Setiawan, Citamutia Asyani Salim, Johan Sun and Josh Marcy Putra Pattiwael. The Girl of the Air is a portrait of female courage in fighting for love and freedom. For more information on the performance, click here. Kelas Penulisan Cerita Anak DKJ 2017, Deadline 30 September 2017.

The Jakarta Art Council literary committee invites all writers interested in writing children stories to submit their work to join this Children writing class. This class is created to stimulate the rise of children story authors in Indonesia and aim to support quality writings that encourage children to read more. Interested applicants need to submit 1-3 work on children stories by 30 September 2017. Selected authors will be announced on 9 October 2017 and classes will be held weekly between 14 October and 2 December 2017. For more information on how to apply, click here.
