Jazz Mben Senen started as a place to share cultures. It has grown into a sharing of the art form every Monday night at Bentara Budaya Yogyakarta’s ground. In its 8th year, Jazz Mben Senen has become a gathering of people – local and international – from all walks of life. The White World of Siwa & Malini, 2 – 4 February 2018, CushCush Gallery, Bali

Puppetry lovers, don’t miss The White World of Siwa & Malini! Presented by CushCush Gallery, and performed by the beloved Papermoon Puppet Theatre, this is an interactive performance on diversity through acting, puppetry, shadow play, and music. The White World of Siwa & Malini is part of the LagiLagi series of plays inspired by the children’s works produced during the Charcoal for Children sessions in in 2017/18. Tickets to the performance is IDR 500,000 for the premier show on the 2nd of February and IDR 100,000 for the regular show on the 3rd and 4th of February. SangKala, 2-3 February 2018, CushCush Gallery, Bali

SangKala is another performance that is presented by CushCush Gallery as a continuation of the PlayPlay Children workshop. Sang Kala means The Time. The performance is about a child who forgets about time and was ‘kidnapped’ into a spirit dimension. It is based on a Balinese belief that children should not wander around during specific times in a day. SangKala is performed by Monez&Ninus, music and dance artists based in Bali. a Button In My Head, 4 February 2018, 10 AM, Uma Seminyak, Bali

Another puppetry performance in Bali this week! Papermoon Puppet Theatre is bringing its #Bersuaprogram to Bali and presenting a Button In My Head by Argentinian puppetry group Arriba Las Hu! Manos. You and your children can also join the Hands Puppet Making workshop on the 3rd of February. Tickets to the performance and workshop are available at the shop Pasarpasaran at Uma Seminyak. Workshop Manajemen Produksi Seni Pertunjukan, application deadline: 31 January 2018

Ruang Seni Pertunjukan presents a series of production management workshops that will be facilitated by Butet Kartaredjasa and Jeannie Park. This series will be held at 4 different cities in Indonesia, including Bali, Kudus, Malang, and Padang Panjang.
