Experience Chinatown through an Indian man named Kumalan who grew up in Chinatown’s shophouse during the 1960s and 1970s. Relive the old Singapore while discovering the lost and forgotten practices and art form of Chinatown’s community in this theatre performance. Follow his story during his growing up years and see the adventures that await in a place of culture and worship.

New Waves: The Pontianak Resides Within Feminity As Monstrosity by Singapore International Film Festival 27 June 2018

Singapore International Film Festival features a discussion session with new generation Malaysian Filmmaker Amanda Nell Eu and established Singapore artist Tania De Rozario. Join them in their shared love for the Pontianak and how pop cultural feminine icons and regional folklore has led them to change the idea of the monstrous feminine. This session also includes two short film screenings Spit and It’s Easier to Raise Cattle

Italian Renaissance Art at Parkview Museum 30 June, 7, 14 and 21 July 2018

Italian Renaissance Art is a course that explains and outline ideas and artists who made Italian Renaissance one of the high points in Western Art History. The session works through 14th to 16th Century, how art was made and how ideas were also reshaped. Sessions will discuss works of the Great Masters such as Michelangelo, Raphael, Leonardo da Vinci and more. Short documentaries by Seventh Art productions will also be featured in the sessions.
