The Japan Foundation, Bangkok, in collaboration with the MAIIAM Contemporary Art Museum, Chiang Mai, is thrilled to announce the upcoming Curator Camp 2024: Closer Grounds. This unique and enriching program is set to take place from the 20th to the 24th of March, 2024. Participants will have the opportunity to explore the Thailand Biennale Chiang Rai 2023, as well as engage in studio visits with professional curators across the cities of Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, and Bangkok, Thailand.

The camp includes a series of discussions, presentations, research initiatives, and networking sessions designed to foster meaningful dialogues and connections. The program will be spearheaded by esteemed curators Kittima Chareeprasit from the MAIIAM Contemporary Art Museum, Chiang Mai, Thailand, and Azusa Hashimoto from the National Museum of Art, Osaka, Japan.

This camp aims to create a platform for dialogue between Japanese and Thai curators, fostering international collaboration and strengthening cultural ties between Japan and Thailand. It allows emerging curators to gain insight experience, and make valuable connections in the international art scene.
