Following the roaring success of GREASE last year, Sing’theatre Academy’s premier performance troupe, The Showstoppers, proudly returns to the stage with another musical theatre classic — The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. Directed by Dr Caleb Goh and featuring musical direction by Joanne Ho (Dear Evan Hansen, Into the Woods), The Showstoppers are set to bring the bold characters and their captivating stories to life with heart and flair.
This heartwarming and hilarious musical comedy follows a quirky group of middle school pupils (portrayed by adults) as they compete in a high-stakes spelling bee. Each contestant brings their own unique charm, insecurities, and aspirations to the spotlight, weaving together a delightful tapestry of humour and sincerity.
Packed with catchy songs, laugh-out-loud moments, and even a touch of audience participation, Spelling Bee is a joyful celebration of individuality, resilience, and the bittersweet journey of growing up. This lively production guarantees fun for all ages!
