Revitalizing Bangkok Through Art and Architecture: A Case Study on BIMA’s Vision

The programs will be organized during the afternoon till the evening of 28th to 30th March 2024 at Bhirasri Institute of Modern Art (BIMA) on Soi Attakarnprasit, Sathorn 1, to revive memories of Thailand’s first institution dedicated to modern art. “Revitalizing Bangkok Through Art and Architecture: A Case Study on BIMA’s Vision for the City’s Future” features various activities to help us get to know and appreciate this place better.

SPECIAL EXHIBITIONS @BIMA:

“Revitalizing BIMA” will reinvigorate the life of BIMA art space, with invited artists such as Alex Face, Manit Sriwanichpoom, Pinai Sirikiatikul, The Canopy Project, Keen Collective Digital Agency, and others.

Three seminars covering topics on driving and revitalizing the city through art and culture:

– Art Gallery as an Urban Catalyst

Explore every corner of the Bhirasri Institute of Modern Art for the first time in a guided tour led by experts.

For those who enjoy taking photographs of modern architecture, join us for an exclusive photo walk with FOTO_MoMo at two historically significant buildings: Bhirasri Institute of Modern Art and Lumpini Hall.

DOCUMENTARY SCREENING @Doc Club & Pub:

Screening of Alice Street, a documentary which portrays art, city and gentrification. The screening will be accompanied by a seminar with experts.

About Alice Street:

In a rapidly gentrifying city, the construction of a luxury condominium threatens a local mural forcing the artists and a neighborhood to rally to protect its history, voice, and land.

All activities will be conducted in Thai, except the seminar “Art Gallery as an Urban Catalyst” which will be conducted in English.
