Description of Workshop:
Led by Artistic Director Alvin Tan, and assisted by Associate Artist A Yagnya, the From Forum Theatre to Devising Theatre will see 20 emerging theatre-makers undergo an intensive training programme that journeys from the creative techniques of forum theatre to TNS’ unique devising methodology
Selected participants will have the opportunity to learn from other established theatre practitioners—from directors to playwrights, dramaturgs to designers—through guest lectures and clinics, and will apply their understanding and individual practices in groups to devise new work. Sessions will run for an eight-month period from April to December 2025 and will culminate in public showcases for the participants’ works-in-progress.

Workshop Fee:
$650 (eligible for payment using SkillsFuture credit. Please note that the SkillsFuture credit is only eligible for Singapore citizens aged 25 and above.)
Entry Requirements:
- No strict educational qualifications are required.
- Participants are required to have some prior experience in doing professional theatre work and need to be able to show their interest in devised theatre.
- Participants need to presently be based in Singapore.
Materials to submit:
- A written statement of up to 500 words on why you would like to participate in this workshop.
- A recent CV detailing your experience in theatre-making.
