FreeSMALL IN SIZE & LARGE ON TALENT Pameran Poskad runs the eighth round!
The eighth iteration of Pameran Poskad is a packed mix of 500 creative entries from Singapore and overseas communities – including informal groups like Mamas on Palette, students of Christ Church Secondary School led by artist Zulkhairee Zulkiflee, White Canvas Studio, the Kids’ Church from Okinawa, professional artists Eitaro Ogawa, Ezzam Rahman, Yen Chua, Tan Sock Fong and Tadashi Nishimori. With each artwork displayed within the Pameran Poskad sleeve size of 11 cm x 19 cm, visitors will enjoy looking through about 4000 mini artworks in 2D and a smaller number in 3D.
Small Works, the special side-by-side exhibition gathers 50 smaller artworks from 25 established and newer Southeast Asian artists on a theme of ‘How It Will Be’ – encouraging creatives to come to terms with current circumstances of artmaking and to recognise that they have the power within themselves to shape things into new perspectives and new beginnings. The intention is also to make art-buying more accessible to a wide audience by making lower-priced good quality art available to the public. Artists include Boo Sze Yang, Ezzam Rahman, Hoe Say Yong, Hong Sek Chern, Joy Mallari, Lye Yau Fatt, Mark Justiniani, Robert Zhao, Sujak Rahman Vasan Sittikhet. The exhibition is curated by art collector and collections advisor Jimmy Chua.
Pameran Poskad 2022 is a unique mash-up community art event, supported by the Tote Board’s Arts Fund, the National Arts Council, venue partner ION Art, ION Orchard and partnering Tasek Jurong ArtLab.
Workshops by Cheryl Lam and the Rainbow Artisan will be held at ION Art for the public (registration required) on 3, 4 & 6 December. In addition, workshops were led in November by batik master Sujak Rahman at Tasek Jurong Artlab for their Junior and Senior children.
