In Bali, “memedi sawah” are the scarecrows that are planted at various rice fields to scare critters and birds from eating the rice. Unfortunately, the reality shows that those with the role to protect often becomes those that create the disturbance. Memedi Sawah shows installations and works that are created as social commentaries to what is happening in today’s society. Memedi Sawah is open until 9 March 2019 at Bentara Budaya Bali.
