SUMMARY:The Elisha Tiga Eksperiment Live in Singapore
DESCRIPTION:The Elisha Tiga Eksperiment (ETX)\, led by Bruneian music producer Elisha Tiga\, is the first collective in Brunei to reimagine jazz as both a genre and a culture. ETX aims to redefine jazz in Brunei by incorporating diverse influences\, including hip-hop\, RnB\, traditional indigenous music\, underground post-rock\, and electronic music. This blend creates a unique soundscape\, positioning ETX as a melting pot of ideas and sonic colours. \nTheir performances draw from the roaring 20s\, 70s fusion\, and modern experimental jazz\, while also reimagining traditional Bruneian music with contemporary harmonies and rhythms. ETX has been recognized as a future representative of Bruneian music\, earning acclaim for their innovative approach to traditional instruments and sounds. Their ultimate goal is to bridge different cultures\, generations\, and backgrounds through their music. \nThis performance is part of The Idea of North 2024 – a four-day festival organised by Global Cultural Alliance to commemorate the 40th anniversary of bilateral relations between Brunei Darussalam and Singapore. \nDon’t miss a rare screening of Gema Dari Menara (Echoes from the Minaret)\, Brunei’s first feature film\, before the performance!
