SUMMARY:From Forum Theatre to Devising Theatre
DESCRIPTION:Description of Workshop: \nLed by Artistic Director Alvin Tan\, and assisted by Associate Artist A Yagnya\, the From Forum Theatre to Devising Theatre will see 20 emerging theatre-makers undergo an intensive training programme that journeys from the creative techniques of forum theatre to TNS’ unique devising methodology\n\n\nSelected participants will have the opportunity to learn from other established theatre practitioners—from directors to playwrights\, dramaturgs to designers—through guest lectures and clinics\, and will apply their understanding and individual practices in groups to devise new work. Sessions will run for an eight-month period from April to December 2025 and will culminate in public showcases for the participants’ works-in-progress. \nVenue for Workshop: \n\nThe Necessary Stage \n(180 Paya Lebar Road\, #10-06\, Yi Guang Factory Building\, Singapore 409032)\n\nVenue for Final Production:\nDrama Centre Black Box\n\nWorkshop Fee:\n$650 (eligible for payment using SkillsFuture credit. Please note that the SkillsFuture credit is only eligible for Singapore citizens aged 25 and above.)\n\nEntry Requirements: \n\n\nNo strict educational qualifications are required.\nParticipants are required to have some prior experience in doing professional theatre work and need to be able to show their interest in devised theatre.\nParticipants need to presently be based in Singapore.\n\nMaterials to submit:\n\nA written statement of up to 500 words on why you would like to participate in this workshop.\nA recent CV detailing your experience in theatre-making.\n\nCall for applications close on Friday\, 14 February 2025\, 12pm
