SUMMARY:Introduction to Wagashi Art
DESCRIPTION:Create a feast for the eyes and a treat for the palate with simple ingredients like azuki beans\, kidney beans\, sugar\, and glutinous rice flour. Wagashi\, or traditional Japanese confectionery\, is much more than a sweet treat to go with a bowl of matcha (green tea). It is an art form that embodies the changing seasons of Japan. Through this workshop\, participants will gain a basic overview of nerikiri\, one of the many forms of wagashi\, and bring home sweets made by their own hands.  \nThis programme is organised in conjunction with The Doraemon Exhibition Singapore 2022 held at the National Museum from 5 November 2022 – 5 February 2023.
