New poets\, old poets\, non-poets\, amateur poets\, professional poets\, the poet who wrote their first poem yesterday\, and the one who just finished their 10\,000th poem. ANYONE. Everyone. \n…………………………………………………………………………………………… \nPoetry Slam RULES + FORMAT: \n……………………………………………………………………………………………. \nPrize: 1\,000 THB Cash \n(No buy-in to compete\, but you must pay 300THB cover for entry) \nNo use of props nor costumes is permitted. \nNo music. \nNo crowd participation. \nA time penalty will be enforced. \nOnly original pieces written and developed by the competing poet are to be performed. \nThere will be 2 Rounds. \nThe First Round will host up to 8 poets. \nThe 5 poets with the highest scores in the 1st round will advance to the Second Round. \nJudges will be selected from the audience and will score each poet’s performance on a scale from 1-10 based on three criteria: Delivery\, Writing\, and Content. \nThe highest scoring poet in the Second Round is determined the Winner of the Poetry Slam. \nEach round is clean slate\, poets given the highest scores in each round will advance\, while the remaining poets will be eliminated. \nIn the event of a tie\, the two poets with a tied score will enter a lighting round in which both poets will perform a one minute piece. \nEach poem must fit within a 3 minute time limit\, with a 10 second grace period. \nAfter the 10 second grace period the poet’s final score will be deducted .5 points for every 10 seconds over the 3 minuets and 10 seconds. \n
