SUMMARY:OPEN CALL VISIONS : SINGAPORE-FRANCE EMERGING ARTIST IN RESIDENCY PROGRAMME
DESCRIPTION:In partnership with INSTINC Space\, National Arts Council and French Embassy\, the Fondation Fiminco welcomes applications from Singaporean emerging visual artists between 21 and 35\, for a 2-month research\, creation and production residency in Romainville (Greater Paris) from mid-October to mid-December 2024. \nThe objective of this residency programme is to support a Singaporean artist by offering them the opportunity to live and work in the Fondation Fiminco artist residency and to promote them in the contemporary art networks in Paris and on the international scene. \nRESIDENCY THEME/TOPICS : Memory and History\nDuring the residency\, we encourage the artist to explore the following themes: preservation and transmission of collective memory through architecture\, rituals and artefacts. The ways in which collective memory is valued in the two countries\, Singapore and France.\nKeywords: colonial legacies\, wartime experiences\, cultural exchanges and heritage\, urban transformation.
