SUMMARY:PROJECT LIONHEART: CELEBRATING THE SINGAPORE SPIRIT THAT HAS SHONE THROUGH A PANDEMIC
DESCRIPTION:Project Lionheart seeks to highlight and champion five core qualities – Hope\, Duty\, Compassion\, Invention and Strength\, that have shone through the pandemic. The initiative aims to collect stories of poignant lived experiences from the ground and share them with the community as sources of inspiration through art installations\, wall murals\, music & theatre performances\, and short films by more than 30 local artists\, muralists\, filmmakers and musicians.   \nContinuing the momentum from its successful launch at Ang Mo Kio\, and subsequent exhibitions at hospitals and community spaces such as Tan Tock Seng Hospital and the void decks at Joo Chiat Road\, the roving exhibition is on the move yet again\, this time heading to Chong Pang City Atrium from 3 to 9 November.  \n Celebrating the spirit of enterprise\, problem solving and innovation\, Project Lionheart wishes to acknowledge businesses who creatively pivoted or translated their products and services as well as people who invented solutions for the benefit of society in the midst of a crisis.  \n To celebrate innovation during times of crisis\, Lee Wei Lieh (Wei) from Very Small Exhibition\, a collective that creates interactive and meaningful public art\, will build towers made with cardboard and PVC tubes which will sit within a one-way mirror tempered glass cube inserted into a pedestal. The playful setup is reminiscent of a “sandbox” environment where innovation is given free rein.\, and the infinite reflections within the lighted cube represent boundless ingenuity in spite of our country’s diminutive size as a city state.  \n Beyond the art installation\, the Project Lionheart exhibition will feature up to 20 community stories that have displayed the spirit of Hope\, Invention\, Compassion\, Duty and Strength through individuals’ actions\, efforts\, and deeds during one of the most challenging periods for our nation.  \n Visitors will also be treated to musical performances by local artists NyaLi\, Weish and Wheelsmith on Saturday\, 5 Nov.
