SUMMARY:Essentially Macbeth 必要麦克白
DESCRIPTION:A group of ex-drama club members come together to stage Macbeth in order to rekindle their passion for the arts they felt 10 years ago. By coming back to theatre\, they find themselves re-examining their life choices and asking the same question they had before – what is the meaning and purpose of the arts in their lives? \nDirected by Judy Ngo\, with an original score composed by Phang Kok Jun and conducted by Moses Gay\, Essentially Macbeth is a first-of-its-kind collaboration between NUS Chinese Drama and NUS Chinese Orchestra and explores what success\, ambition and fulfilment mean to today’s generation. \nPerformed in Mandarin with English surtitles. \nEssentially Macbeth is presented as part of NUS Arts Festival 2023: Spaces Between. \nNUS Arts Festival 2023: Spaces Between examines the idea of liminal spaces\, the uncomfortable unknown as we transition between phases\, and states. While liminal spaces bring discomfort and ambiguity\, they also present us with opportunities for growth and positive change\, physically\, emotionally\, and metaphorically. \nIn a world that is constantly divided by extreme views\, NUS Arts Festival 2023: Spaces Between seeks to show how art can bring relief and recognition that there is more to gain in the spaces between. \n— \nEssentially Macbeth \nFri 24 Mar & Sun 26 Mar| 7.30pm \nTickets from $18 via bookmyshow.com (link in bio) \nUCC Theatre

SUMMARY:NUS Arts Festival 2023: Spaces Between
DESCRIPTION:NUS Arts Festival returns to campus with our latest edition: Spaces Between! \nRunning across 3 weekends in March\, you’ll be spoilt for choice with over 20 different shows spanning multiple genres and disciplines like dance\, music\, theatre\, film\, art installations\, dialogue\, and more! \nThe theme Spaces Between examines the idea of liminal spaces\, the uncomfortable unknown as we transition between phases\, and states. While liminal spaces bring discomfort and ambiguity\, they also present us with opportunities for growth and positive change\, physically\, emotionally\, and metaphorically. \nIn a world of diverse and divided views\, NUS Arts Festival 2023: Spaces Between seeks to show how art can build connections and demonstrate that there is more to gain in the spaces between.
