SUMMARY:Singapore Art Week 2023
DESCRIPTION:Singapore Art Week (SAW) returns for its 11th edition! A high point in Singapore’s arts calendar\, SAW gathers the visual arts scene over a period of ten days to kickstart 2023. From 6 to 15 January 2023\, the entire city will come alive with over 130 arts events across Singapore\, from the city centre to the heartlands. Visitors can look forward to a variety of offerings ranging from renowned art fairs\, to exhibitions and installations all around the island (including at Singaporeans’ favourite leisure destination — shopping malls!)\, experiential trails\, tours\, and many more.  \nWith the theme of Play\, this year’s edition of SAW encourages audiences to explore our personal connection with our surroundings\, and aims to spark meaningful and spontaneous interactions amongst the community. Drawing upon the creative energy of the city\, SAW 2023 encourages audiences to look beyond the white cube and consider different forms and materials that art can take\, and casts a spotlight on the intersection between art and other sectors including design and technology.  \nOrganised by the National Arts Council\, Singapore’s premier visual arts season brings together all players of the visual arts ecosystem\, making the arts accessible to everyone\, and cementing Singapore as a key arts destination in the region. It is part of ongoing efforts to champion the sustainable growth of Singapore’s art sector as part of the upcoming Our SG Arts Plan (2023-2027) to build a distinctive city\, anchored by a connected society\, powered by a creative economy. \nFor more information\, please visit: https://www.artweek.sg/ or follow @sgartweek on Facebook\, Instagram and Telegram.
