SUMMARY:Iloilo Mega Book Fair 2024
DESCRIPTION:The seventh Iloilo Mega Book Fair with the theme “”Our Shared Narratives: Embracing Indigenous Voices.” Iloilo City\, with the slogan “The City That Reads\,” cradles various indigenous traditions that inform contemporary creativities which\, in recent years\, has worked at building an audience around local writing and literatures. Central to this is homegrown Kasingkasing Press which has organized the IMBF since its inception. \nThis year’s IMBF coincides with the first Leoncio P. Deriada Conference on Literature and Cultural Work on April 19\, 2024 at the UPV Cinematheque\, Iloilo City Campus. Organized by the Hubon Manunulat and the Division of Humanities of University of the Philippines Visayas this conference pushes to the fore the contributions of the Leoncio P. Deriada\, the Father of Contemporary West Visayan Literature\, with the conference theme “Leoncio P. Deriada: Literary Artist\, Critic\, and Cultural Worker for the Filipino Nation.” \nRegistration for the conference is here. \nMore information on the IMBF here.
