However\, cunning propaganda hides their true agenda\, as the ideals of the revolution are gradually subverted. \nAnimal Farm\, George Orwell’s most celebrated novel\, is a timely reminder that absolute power corrupts and that totalitarian regimes inevitably betray the trust of ordinary citizens. \nCombining physical theatre\, live and original music\, and innovative design\, Wild Rice’s 20th-anniversary production of Animal Farm is more than just a tale of barnyard betrayal. As tension clouds the atmosphere at home\, she escapes into her imagination to search for answers. But when tragedy strikes\, her choice becomes more complicated than she could imagine. \nMoving between reality and dreams\, Audition shows us the intersection of warmth\, love\, and struggle at the heart of this special family. \nAudition has been developed under the Playwrights Commune’s long-term writers group\, and was originally written for a workshop conducted by Haresh Sharma and The Necessary Stage.\n————-\nAbout ‘A Mirage’: \nA Mirage is a pop-up theatre for artists to experiment & create\, away from financial or critical pressure. DESCRIPTION:What happens when mental health issues spill out of the therapy chair? \nSelected Verses from in within over under beneath Therapy delves into spaces beyond the therapy room\, experimenting with how mental health issues can be represented on stage. It gathers 2 collections of 4 short performances each\, conceptualised and written by local emerging artists. These pieces are as much about depictions of issues as they are about our process of finding ways to talk about them.
