DESCRIPTION:𝗦𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝗣𝗹𝗼𝘁: 𝗧𝗿𝘂𝗲/𝗦𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 is a collection of audio plays responding to the geographical area of Tanjong Pagar/Pasir Panjang where the Singapore Art Museum currently resides. With audio design by Artwave Studio\, the plays first premiered as part of Singapore Art Week\, each with an audio spot installation at the museum and now available online as well. \nThe three short audio plays (of which the latter 2 were selected through our Open Call) are: \nSea Song  \nAdvisory: Contains some coarse language \nLaurie and Scott settle into their new expatriate lives at Sentosa Cove only to discover that not all is as it seems. DESCRIPTION:Come listen to James Ley’s practice and process of writing some of the most celebrated queer plays in Scotland. He will share about how his works speak to the preservation and promotion of queer spaces\, as well as how he creates iconic and original queer characters who survive\, thrive and sidestep stereotypes. His recent plays include WILF (Traverse Theatre)\, ODE TO JOY (Stories Untold\, Summerhall) and LOVE SONG TO LAVENDER MENACE (Royal Lyceum Theatre Edinburgh\, Summerhall\, SoHo Playhouse\, New York). \nJames’ play ODE TO JOY which he wrote and directed won a Fringe First at the Edinburgh Festival 2022. His feature adaptation of Love Song to Lavender Menace is currently in development\, produced by John McKay/Compact Pictures\, funded by the Scottish Film Talent Network.

DESCRIPTION:With a focus on queer characters and queer stories\, this workshop is an introduction to developing character-driven queer drama for stage and screen.
