SUMMARY:The Chair
DESCRIPTION:The Chair\nA dead story told in 7 chapters\nAn unspeakable tragedy has struck a quiet small town. To restore order\, justice\, and inner peace\, the law compels the victims to get their hands dirty – but who will be held accountable? \nPerformed by the ITI graduating cohort of 2023\, The Chair is an original work that raises questions on individual and collective responsibility\, grief\, and the desperate\, at times absurd pursuit of justice in an unjust world. Who has the right to decide? When is justice served? What do we owe to each other in the balancing of scales? \nThis thought-provoking ensemble work is brought to life by five actor-students\, incorporating their training in Asian Traditional and Western Contemporary forms with the clarity\, rhythm\, and stylistic precision of V. Meyerhold’s Biomechanics\, taught by the play’s Director and ITI Acting teacher Li Xie. \nAdvisory (Some Mature Content) \n——— \nDirector: Li Xie\nSet Design: Devised by Director and Cast\nLighting Designer: Faith Liu Yong Huay\nCostume Designer: Max Tan\nSound Designer: Meng Jiaoyang \nProduction Manager: Clarisse Ng\nStage Manager: Marilyn Chew\nAssistant Stage Manager: Shivani Rajan \nCast: Abinaya Jothi\, Cheng Kam Yiu (Yolanda)\, Choy Chee Yew\, Mika Oskarson Kindstrand\, Swathilakshmi Perumal

SUMMARY:Mari Kita Main Wayang
DESCRIPTION:Hijinks and humour abound in Mari Kita Main Wayang (Let’s Stage A Play)! \nThis play-within-a-play follows a group of Peranakans who come together to stage Empat Bini\, an ambitious script that is set within the illustrious walls of a royal court. However\, all is not as it seems—as the play unfolds\, a gripping narrative of power gone awry among the players comes to light. \nPresented in Baba Melayu and peppered with familiar expressions\, Mari Kita Main Wayang is a love letter to the rich Peranakan cultural heritage deeply rooted in Singapore. It pays homage to the under-appreciated art form of Peranakan theatre\, while highlighting the significance of having this heritage represented on stage. Witness the revival of this tradition and be transported to a bygone era where the past meets the present. \nFirst staged in 1994\, this adaptation of Felix Chia’s script is comedic\, unique and utterly captivating—look forward to witty banter\, dramatic storytelling and masterful performances by the cast!

SUMMARY:Tampines Boy
DESCRIPTION:Shai and his family have lived in their Tampines Central home for the last 35 years. With ageing parents\, marriage not quite on the books yet\, and property valuation in the estate at an all-time high\, the question increasingly on everyone’s mind is\, “to sell or not to sell?” While they joke about wanting to sell the house (sometimes not really)\, deep down they’re reluctant to move. But in a city of constant progress\, will pragmatism trump sentimentality? Afterall\, it’s just a house…right? \nCreated by Shaifulbahri Mohamad\, Tampines Boy is a part-theatrical\, part-tour promenade experience taking place in the Tampines Central estate. Journeying through the different places and spaces he has grown up in\, he contemplates the impermanence and temporal nature of the state of things in a place like Singapore. \n🚶 Length of walk: ~5km\n⏳ Duration: 2.5 hours \n📍 Venue: Our Tampines Hub\, 1 Tampines Walk\, Singapore 528523\n👤 Age requirement: Recommended for audience above 13 years old and above\n♿ Accessibility: Please write in to us at hello@bahriandco.com if you have accessibility queries or needs
