SUMMARY:Residency at ITI: Open Sessions
DESCRIPTION:Intercultural Theatre Institute (ITI) launched the first-ever Residency at ITI earlier this year\, aimed at providing local theatre practitioners with time and space to engage in process-based practice. \nFor the first residency period from May to July 2024\, artists-in-residence Ranice Tay and Renee Chua (SG) have been developing their respective performance projects: i am finally in love with the world 2.0 and Ma Forgets. As part of the residency\, the artists will host Open Sessions\, a series of programmes to engage with the local arts community and general public. \nResidency at ITI: Open Sessions \n29 & 30 June | Sat & Sun | 8 PM\ni am finally in love with the world 2.0: work-in-progress presentation by Ranice Tay (SG)\nInspired by the heart sutra\, i am finally in love with the world 2.0 poses a question on emptiness: the place we rise from and return to. In this iteration of creative exploration\, we seek to embody some of the most striking haikus written by Zen monks just before the moments of their death\, where life is – paradoxically — at its clearest and most lucid. \nAttendance is by invitation only\, email to enquire. \n20 & 27 July | Sat | 11 AM – 2 PM\nCloud Body Workshops with Ranice Tay\nJoin ITI artist-in-residence Ranice Tay for a two-day workshop series to experience CLOUD BODY\, her ongoing body of research that seeks to develop an approach to theatre-making through the embodiment of Taiji. \nFees: $40 single-day workshop / $70 two-day workshop\nSliding scale available – view the registration form for details\nRegister Here\n \n28 July | Sun | 3 PM – 6 PM\nMa Forgets: work-in-progress presentation by Renee Chua (SG)\nMa Forgets is a participatory theatre performance that explores the intricate landscape of different stages of dementia from the caregiver and patient’s perspective.
