SUMMARY:PROJECT LIONHEART: CELEBRATING THE SINGAPORE SPIRIT THAT HAS SHONE THROUGH A PANDEMIC
DESCRIPTION:The Covid-19 pandemic has been one of the biggest crises to hit our shores but it has also shown us the best of the Singapore spirit. We Are Majulah\, a social movement that focuses on community and identity building initiatives\, hopes to celebrate the Singapore Spirit that has helped us navigate through the pandemic and will continue to move the nation forward with a ground-up initiative\, Project Lionheart. \n  \nProject Lionheart seeks to highlight and champion five core qualities – Hope\, Duty\, Compassion\, Invention and Strength\, that have shone through the pandemic. The initiative aims to collect stories of poignant lived experiences from the ground and share them with the community as sources of inspiration through art installations\, wall murals\, music & theatre performances\, and short films by more than 30 local artists\, muralists\, filmmakers and musicians. \n  \nAdditionally\, in partnership with Project Lionheart\, The Majurity Trust has pledged $100\,000 to the SG Strong Fund to support ground-up initiatives in Singapore. The public is encouraged to share their own incredible stories with Project Lionheart which will hopefully inspire more ground-up initiatives supported by the SG Strong Fund. \n  \nProject Lionheart had a successful exhibition launch at Ang Mo Kio where the public got to see Lee Wei Lieh (Wei) from Very Small Exhibition\, a collective that creates interactive and meaningful public art\, transform his famous LOVE light art sculpture into HOPE\, while lit in rainbow colours. \n  \nThe next stop will see the roving exhibition head to Tan Tock Seng Hospital from 17 to 21 October. This time\, Project Lionheart is honoring frontline workers who have exemplified grit\, sacrifice and determination alongside many others who continued to serve their duties to keep our country’s core functions moving. \n  \nTo bring to life the spirit of ‘DUTY’\, Wei will be unveiling his second art installation\, a chandelier of iridescent face masks with lights shining through from above. \n  \nBeyond the art installation\, the Project Lionheart exhibition will feature up to 20 community stories that have displayed the spirit of Hope\, Invention\, Compassion\, Duty and Strength through individuals’ actions\, efforts\, and deeds during one of the most challenging periods for our nation. \n  \nVisitors will also be treated to musical performances by local artists NyaLi\, Weish and Wheelsmith on 19 and 20 Oct.

SUMMARY:30th ENCATC Congress “Internationalisation in focus”
DESCRIPTION:ENCATC\, the leading European network on cultural management and policy\, will have its 2022 Congress on the topic of “Internationalisation in focus: theoretical\, strategic and management perspectives in education\, research\, policy and practices” on 17-19 October in Brussels and Antwerp. \nThe ENCATC Congress is the only global event dedicated to the advancement of theory\, education\, research and practice on cultural management and policy. Each year\, it gathers academics\, trainers and researchers from the cultural management and policy educational fields with cross-disciplinary interests\, cultural professionals\, policy makers\, artists\, and students. \nThe post-pandemic global landscape offers new opportunities and challenges to the cultural sector. Internationalization and digitization give us novel ways to build communities\, to create and share knowledge\, and to decolonize and diversify cultural management and policy. At the same time\, our increasingly complex world demands that we develop innovative approaches to engagement\, collaboration and communication in the realm of culture and creativity. \nThe 2022 ENCATC Congress aims to: \n\nReflect on 30 years of networking in Europe and beyond\, while looking to the future of the sector in an increasingly complex world.\nConsider innovative ways in which cultural networks build communities of knowledge and practice.\nDevelop cultural networks’ strategies to become more environmentally sustainable\, inclusive\, and equitable.\nImagine new possibilities for knowledge sharing and relationship building through international ‘networks of networks’\n\nFollowing the successful editions of the past years\, the 2022 edition of the Congress will be once more structured on an action-packed programme including keynotes\, interactive debates\, presentations\, panel discussions\, group sessions\, and networking. It will also include the ENCATC Research Award Ceremony and the Young and Emerging Researchers Forum\, one of major ENCATC contributions to the European Year of Youth 2022. \nFOR MORE & TO REGISTER: https://encatccongress.org/
