SUMMARY:Batik Kita: Dressing in Port Cities
DESCRIPTION:Batik Kita: Dressing in Port Cities is the latest special exhibition by Singapore’s Asian Civilisations Museum (ACM)\, and celebrates the Southeast Asian heritage. It features over 100 masterpieces from overseas and local lenders\, as well as rarely seen pieces from the National Collection. \nThe exhibition explores the rich history and culture of batik and batik making\, from its traditional roots to contemporary designs. Visitors are invited to step into an exquisite world of batik textiles that cut across cultures and ethnic backgrounds and explore the dynamic possibilities of batik as fashion through the years. \nIt also introduces innovations by batikers in the age-old craft and showcases how batik charted the evolution of new identities in the newly formed nations of Indonesia\, Malaysia\, and Singapore.

SUMMARY:The Citizen Creatives by The Local People X Lithium X Project Anew
DESCRIPTION:The Local People are back with their signature Art Market this National Day\, showcasing two upcoming Singaporean initiatives: @itslithium_ and @projanew\, each looking to champion their local scene of art\, fashion and community building social projects.\n\nThings to Do @ The Citizen Creatives :\n+ Local Art Installations in store @itslithium_ by @projanew\n+ Signature Art Market™ at the carpark\n+ Local Musicians\n+ Shop your archival and streetwear clothing needs at @itslithium_\n+ Charity Clothing Booth Drive by @projanew whereby all sales proceeds at the booth are donated to charity\nProject Anew aims to intertwine the act of giving with fashion. A team founded and led by youths aged 21 and below\, we aim to introduce and create interest among fellow youths on topics such as Philanthropy and Sustainability. By creating content that appeals to youths and collaborating with industry partners\, we host biannual events where we aim to raise funds for selected beneficiaries. Established this year in 2022\, we were motivated by the support given to our first drive and are back to bring a bigger and bolder installment to raise funds for charity.\n\nThis joint collaboration hopes to gather and inspire Singaporeans to give back to the community amid the National Day holidays and hone the kampung spirit. Held from 9-14 August alongside TLP and Lithium at 18 Genting Road\, a wider selection of pre-loved clothing kindly donated by our collaborators (and the public) will be on sale. Through our second drive\, we hope to bridge the gap between the importance of supporting fellow Singaporeans and responsible buying.
