DESCRIPTION:Evening Concert I \nMon 16 Dec 2024\nSchubert Arpeggione Sonata a minor D 821\nSchubert String Quartet no. 14 in d minor D 810 ‘Death and the Maiden’ \nEvening Concert II \nTue 17 Dec 2024\nSchubert Octet in F major D 803 \n‘I have written very few new songs\, but instead I have tried my hand at several kinds of instrumental music and composed two string quartets and an octet (…) the latest news in Vienna is that Beethoven is giving a concert\, at which his new symphony\, three selections from the new Mass\, and a new overture are to be performed.’ \n– Schubert writing to his friend Leopold Kupelwieser in Rome on 31 March 1824 ~ referring to Beethoven’s newly completed Ninth Symphony\, his Consecration of the House Overture\, and his Missa Solemnis \n1824 is a celebration by Chamber Music and Arts Singapore (CMAS) of the 200th anniversary of this monumental year for chamber music and the cornerstone works written by Schubert in this year.   \nThis historically-significant project features the internationally-acclaimed chamber musicians of CMAS: \nFlorent Héau\, french solo clarinetist\nJulianne Lee\, violist of Grammy-nominated Dover Quartet\nEckart Runge\, founding cellist of Artemis Quartet\nTang Tee Khoon\, concert violinist and founder of CMAS\nYang Shuxiang\, Singaporean concert violinist \nwith friends of CMAS from Resound Collective and Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music: \nWang Xu\, double bass\nAlan Kartik\, horn\nLim Tee Heong\, bassoon\nNing An\, piano \nEvent Time & Date: 16-17 Dec\, 8pm to 9.10pm
