SUMMARY:Golden Point Award 2025 is now open for submissions
DESCRIPTION:Singapore’s premier creative writing competition\, the Golden Point Award (GPA)\, returns with its 17th edition this year. Organised by Arts House Limited (AHL) in collaboration with Singapore Book Council (SBC)\, GPA is a significant platform for uncovering literary talents while nurturing a thriving community of writers and providing fertile ground for literary innovation and expression in Singapore. GPA will be accepting online submissions from 3 March 2025 – 12 May 2025\, 6pm (SGT)\, in the Short Story and Poetry categories in Singapore’s four official languages: English\, Chinese\, Malay\, and Tamil\, and the Translation: Short Story category in English. This year’s winners will receive a cash prize of up to $6\,000\, trophies\, and access to a mentorship programme. Interested participants can submit their entries on https://artshouselimited.sg/gpa.

DESCRIPTION:📖 Book Reading! 📖 \nJoin us for a special reading session of our book ‘Our Home\, Our Stories: Voices of Migrant Domestic Workers in Singapore’ on 23 March\, Sunday\, 3PM at Book Bar! \n‘Our Home\, Our Stories’ offers a look through the eyes of domestic workers as they share real-life stories\, from childhoods in mountain villages to rogue agents and difficult employers\, and that one thing they all suffer from the most: homesickness\, and the pain of leaving their families behind – in Indonesia\, the Philippines\, Myanmar and India. \nOur contributors\, Jo Ann Dumlao\, Kina Hidayah Kastari\, Novia Arluma\, and Miriam Escander will be reading their stories at the event. The session will be moderated by the book’s editor Karien van Ditzhuijzen\, a long-time HOME volunteer who conducts writing workshops at HOME’s shelter. \nBooks will be available for sale at $20 each!
