DESCRIPTION:From 24 March 2023 \nDaily\, 10am – 7pm | Fridays\, 10am – 9pm \nAsian Civilisations Museum\, Level 3\, Fashion and Textiles Gallery \n  \nThe Asian Civilisations Museum presents Textile Masters to the World: The global desire for Indian cloth with a selection of exquisite garments and textiles at its Fashion and Textiles Gallery. Featuring 27 pieces from the National Collection and loans\, the exhibition spotlights the historic global impact of textile production in India\, and its role as evidence of trade and cultural exchange between India and regions such as the Middle East\, Southeast Asia\, and Europe from the fourteenth to nineteenth century. From fashion and furnishing\, to gift exchange and heirlooms\, visitors can marvel at the artistry and craftsmanship of early textile masters\, and discover how Indian textiles influenced local designs\, materials and fashions wherever they were traded.

DESCRIPTION:Organised by Arts House Limited\, Textures\, the annual literary festival that celebrates Singapore literature (SingLit)\, returns once again from 19 – 28 January 2024 at The Arts House\, in conjunction with the Light to Night Festival and Singapore Art Week. Featuring an array of multidisciplinary SingLit-related programmes and showcases that respond to the theme ‘Reimagine\,’ Textures transports all visitors to a world where words come alive against the backdrop of other artistic practices and disciplines\, casting a spotlight on the literary works that are closest to home.  \n  \nFrom captivating interdisciplinary performances presented by notable local artists like Hafidz Rahman\, Marc Nair\, Sudhee Liao\, Mantravine\, Audrey Ng\, Low Zi Hao\, and more\, to enchanting art installations by homegrown visual artists including Justin Loke and Knuckles & Notch that speak of the constancy of literature and its richness and diversity amidst the ever-changing digitised world. Fresh perspectives and exciting encounters with SingLit texts are a promise at the festival.  \n  \nExpect to be introduced to a diverse genre of books by both local and international writers at the pop-up bookstore by Chio Books or spook your socks off while attending the multisensorial theatrical experience of iconic Singapore horror stories.
