DESCRIPTION:From 24 March 2023 \nDaily\, 10am – 7pm | Fridays\, 10am – 9pm \nAsian Civilisations Museum\, Level 3\, Fashion and Textiles Gallery \n  \nThe Asian Civilisations Museum presents Textile Masters to the World: The global desire for Indian cloth with a selection of exquisite garments and textiles at its Fashion and Textiles Gallery. Featuring 27 pieces from the National Collection and loans\, the exhibition spotlights the historic global impact of textile production in India\, and its role as evidence of trade and cultural exchange between India and regions such as the Middle East\, Southeast Asia\, and Europe from the fourteenth to nineteenth century. From fashion and furnishing\, to gift exchange and heirlooms\, visitors can marvel at the artistry and craftsmanship of early textile masters\, and discover how Indian textiles influenced local designs\, materials and fashions wherever they were traded.

Exact format and prize structure is in the sign up link.\nEvent details are as followed:\n5th August 2023\, 8-10.30 pm\nBlackbox\, Stamford Arts Centre\nThis event would not be possible without the support of Singlit Station\n\n\nAbout the Organisers: \nSPOKE & BIRD \nSpoke & Bird is a poetry open mic in Singapore which provides a welcoming space for new and seasoned poets. It also provides a platform for established local and international writers\, performers\, storytellers and musicians to showcase their work. Founded in 2017\, Spoke & Bird can also be found as a live streamed poetry night. \nOUTSPOKEN \nOutspoken is a new bi-monthly competitive Spoken Word Poetry event in Singapore consisting of 3 rounds including 1 improv round. \nSING LIT STATION \nSing Lit Station is a registered charity and Institution of Public Character (IPC). Its vision is to be a platform where readers and writers can meet. \nIts core mission is to serve the local literary community of writers and readers\, through: creating a space for writers to grow their artistic and professional lives; inviting readers to explore our literary culture; and working with many partners to build inclusive and dynamic communities.
