DESCRIPTION:From 24 March 2023 \nDaily\, 10am – 7pm | Fridays\, 10am – 9pm \nAsian Civilisations Museum\, Level 3\, Fashion and Textiles Gallery \n  \nThe Asian Civilisations Museum presents Textile Masters to the World: The global desire for Indian cloth with a selection of exquisite garments and textiles at its Fashion and Textiles Gallery. Featuring 27 pieces from the National Collection and loans\, the exhibition spotlights the historic global impact of textile production in India\, and its role as evidence of trade and cultural exchange between India and regions such as the Middle East\, Southeast Asia\, and Europe from the fourteenth to nineteenth century. From fashion and furnishing\, to gift exchange and heirlooms\, visitors can marvel at the artistry and craftsmanship of early textile masters\, and discover how Indian textiles influenced local designs\, materials and fashions wherever they were traded.

Featuring gender as nasi padang\, a lifelong Aishwarya Rai stan\, stand-up in drag\, Nusantaran Punk\, and SO MUCH MORE 🌈 Dabble in dance\, thrive with theatre\, surrender to spoken word\, discover drag\, challenge comedy\, manifest with music: come one\, come all! This is your space to sculpt selves into being and living fully. \nPresenting: Dia Hakim\, Earth Na Khaa\, Rajkumar Thiagaras\, Polloycious\, Sharul Mohd\, Max Pasakorn\, Shh… Diam! \nAnything & Anyone is a celebration of queer\, brown joy. Spanning multiple disciplines (drag\, theatre\, music\, spoken word\, dance\, stand-up)\, our creative icons show us how art is necessary for joy\, and vice-versa. \ndink is an open-mic night that has been running since 2012. In the last few years the 24-Hour Playwriting Competition went fully digital or ran in a hybrid fashion. This year\, we’re going full sleepover style so unroll your sleeping bags and get your creative juices flowing. We want you back – for that excitement and communal experience – in the house! \nWe invite you\, aspiring writers and consummate storytellers\, to join us as we gather for this fun-filled event\, where you will be inspired to complete a play in 24 short hours! \n24-Hour Playwriting Competition\nDates: 15 – 16 Jul\, Sat – Sun\, 11am – 11am (24hrs) \nYouth category: 15 – 18 years\nOpen category: 19 years and above \nRegistration fee: S$55 (inclusive of meals) \nRegister now at bit.ly/24hpwc-2023 Participants enjoy a 50% discount to this year’s playwriting workshop Don’t Fret.
