SUMMARY:Textures 2023
DESCRIPTION:Organised by Arts House Limited\, Textures\, the annual literary festival that celebrates Singapore literature (SingLit) makes its comeback from 6 – 15 January 2023\, in conjunction with the Light to Night (L2N) Festival and as part of the Singapore Art Week (SAW). After two years of bringing local literary arts to the heartlands\, Textures 2023 returns home to where it first began\, celebrating the nation’s diverse literary scene at the home of Singapore’s literary arts\, The Arts House (TAH).  \n  \nCurated by critically-acclaimed\, multi-disciplinary artist Jason Wee for a third consecutive year\, and with the theme aptly titled Arrived Home\, the 2023 edition invites audiences to explore and question ideas of domesticity and belonging with programmes that highlight renowned local writers and their literary works. Head down to TAH to experience a wide range of literary art programmes from dramatised readings to multidisciplinary performances\, installations\, a pop-up bookstore\, and many more! \n  \nFollow #Textures2023 #ArrivedHome on: \nFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/theartshouse \nInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/theartshouse

SUMMARY:Dinh Q. Lê in Conversation: Crossing the Farther Shore\, at National Gallery Singapore
DESCRIPTION:Displayed for the first time in Asia in the exhibition Living Pictures: Photography in Southeast Asia\, Vietnamese American artist Dinh Q. Lê’s installation Crossing the Farther Shore (2014) is a rare record of the everyday lives of Southern Vietnamese people in the pre-Vietnam war period\, reflected through abandoned images collected by the artist himself. \n\nIn this artist talk moderated by art historian Roger Nelson\, Dinh Q. Lê will delve into the processes and motivations behind the work\, its relation to his practice in photography\, his perspectives on his work in the context of the exhibition\, and his involvement in the independent art space Sàn Arts\, which he co-founded in 2007.
