SUMMARY:Open Call: Film Programmers Lab 2024
DESCRIPTION:A six month developmental platform for emerging film programmers\nDeadline: Thursday\, 29 Feb 2024 (2359H SGT) \nThe Film Programmers Lab is a new initiative presented by Objectifs and the Asian Film Archive. It is a 6-month developmental platform for emerging film programmers based in Singapore. The programme will consist of a series of workshops\, closed-door consultations and public talks\, the programme provides 4 selected participants with mentorship and a valuable support network. DESCRIPTION:Taking place in conjunction with A Reservoir of Time \nA Reservoir of Time \nCurated by Goh Chun Aik with works by Lewis Choo\, Ge Xiaocong\, Goh Chun Aik\, Hong Shu-ying\, and Ivan Ong\nPresented by Objectifs\nRecipient of Curator Open Call \n21 Jan – 4 Mar 2024\nChapel Gallery\, Objectifs\nOpening: 20 Jan 2024\, 5pm\nFree admission \n***\nHow does found footage from different time periods\, when merged and manipulated to create new meanings/contexts\, affect the way we might think about the notion of time and its passing as we experience them in our shared present reality? \nJoin us at our first Film Club event of 2024\, where we will be screening Nelson Yeo’s Mary\, Mary\, So Contrary\, and Toh Hun Ping’s Where Do You Think You Will Fit In This Equation Of Mine. This will be followed by a discussion about time\, found footage\, and more\, with both filmmakers as well as artist Hong Shu-ying\, whose work is featured in ‘A Reservoir of Time‘. This session will be moderated by Leong Puiyee (Objectifs’ Programme Asst.
