The exhibition will be held at Projector X: Picturehouse (The Cathay building)\, from 11–20 November. \nThis exhibition concludes our month-long transgender awareness campaign\, and touches on gender dysphoria\, transitioning\, and euphoria. SUMMARY:SITFE'S ASIAN PREMIERE EVENT
DESCRIPTION:Did you know that saris worn by Indian women were used as ‘shields’ to protect Chinese babies against the bayonets of Japanese soldiers during the Japanese Occupation in Singapore? Would you have imagined a harmless game of Sepak Raga (present day Sepak Takraw) amongst young men could change the fate of Malacca’s Sultanate in the 15th century? Well\, it did with a cost. \n SITFE invites you to witness a possibility where local history\, culture and literature are entwined through two historical fiction films that are making their Asian Premiere this coming November. \n\nSingapore Indian Theatre & Film Explorers (also known as S.I.T.F.E.)\, a local non-profit arts organization that was started in 2016 by Saleem Hadi and D.Piriyadarisini\, will be doing an Asian Premiere of two of its Tamil historical fiction films at Carnival Cinemas on 12th Nov 2022 (Sat) followed by another additional screening on 13th November 2022 (Sun). Saleem Hadi is the director and producer of both films. \nThe two films shown are: \n\n NOOL KADHAIGAL (Thread Tales) [20 mins]  and\n NATCHUKOPPAI (Glass Of Poison) [1hr 20 mins]\n\nThere will be no intermission between these two films. \nS.I.T.F.E. understands\, respects and values local history\, heritage and culture. Thus S.I.T.F.E. believes that it is essential for all to appreciate the past and treasure our present. S.I.T.F.E. diligently recommends its supporters\, youths and members of the public\, to draw inspiration from local literature that will increase their appreciation of local works\, as the way our inspiration has led to the creation of these two films. As a Deepavali treat for the general audience and our supporters\, S.I.T.F.E. will be launching two Tamil films (with English subtitles) at Carnival Cinemas.
