The festival offers a fantastic opportunity to relive the storied history of Chinatown through traditional games\, exhibitions\, performances and workshops!\n\nLearn more about how the lives of early immigrants intertwined with the Five Footway across trades\, clans\, cultural\, arts and entertainment activities at a special exhibition called The Warmth and Bustle of The Five-Footways\, organised in collaboration with Sun Yat-Sen Nanyang Memorial Hall and students from Hwa Chong Institution.\nEmbark on a theatrical walking tour with Tan Ah Huat in Chinatown\, as he takes you back in time through the eyes of a Chinese immigrant from the 1920s and shares the fascinating tale of Chinatown back in the early days of Singapore.\nRevel in intricate cultural performances including Chinese Opera\, Kirin\, Lion and Dragon Dance. You might even pick up a new hobby or two from their workshop experiences.\nLearn traditional recipes including Hainanese-style Pineapple Stir-Fry Pork Rind\, Hakka Rice Wine\, Put Chai Ko and many more.\nRelive and introduce our favourite childhood games to the younger generations at Pagoda Street with the nostalgic can and ring toss\, hoop wheeling\, chapteh\, zero point\, and snakes and ladders. DESCRIPTION:This year’s Cinema Rehiyon happens in the Western Visayas\, with the theme “Patubas sang Taliambong\, Banwa nga Mahamungayaon” (The Fruits of Culture\, A Creative City). An event brought to the public by the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA)\, this 16th iteration boasts of an entire day devoted to film talks on the March 19\, and the awarding of winners to Cinekasimanwa 2023 which happens on the scheduled Filmmakers Night on the 21st. There is also an exhibition of film-related books and publications that highlights the intersection between books and publishing\, and filmmaking and its creativities.  \nAll film screenings and events are free of charge\, but registration is mandatory through this link.
