DESCRIPTION:The Japan Foundation\, Bangkok\, in collaboration with the MAIIAM Contemporary Art Museum\, Chiang Mai\, is thrilled to announce the upcoming Curator Camp 2024: Closer Grounds. This unique and enriching program is set to take place from the 20th to the 24th of March\, 2024. Participants will have the opportunity to explore the Thailand Biennale Chiang Rai 2023\, as well as engage in studio visits with professional curators across the cities of Chiang Mai\, Chiang Rai\, and Bangkok\, Thailand. \nThe camp includes a series of discussions\, presentations\, research initiatives\, and networking sessions designed to foster meaningful dialogues and connections. The program will be spearheaded by esteemed curators Kittima Chareeprasit from the MAIIAM Contemporary Art Museum\, Chiang Mai\, Thailand\, and Azusa Hashimoto from the National Museum of Art\, Osaka\, Japan. \nThis camp aims to create a platform for dialogue between Japanese and Thai curators\, fostering international collaboration and strengthening cultural ties between Japan and Thailand. It allows emerging curators to gain insight experience\, and make valuable connections in the international art scene. \n𝐎𝐩𝐞𝐧 𝐂𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐃𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐬 \n𝑾𝒉𝒐 𝑪𝒂𝒏 𝑨𝒑𝒑𝒍𝒚: We welcome applications from emerging curators active in Thailand and interested in expanding their horizons and engaging in cross-cultural dialogue through trans-regional connections. \n𝑺𝒆𝒍𝒆𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏: 3 curators from Thailand will be selected. 3 from Japan will be separately chosen. \nApplication Requirements: Applicants are required to submit a CV and a motivation letter of 500 words (in English)\, detailing their interest and what they hope to achieve through their participation in the camp. \n𝐃𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞:  𝟐𝟔𝐭𝐡 𝐅𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒\, 𝐦𝐢𝐝𝐧𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐈𝐂𝐓. \n*The program will be conducted in English \n𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦 𝐁𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐟𝐢𝐭𝐬 \n𝑵𝒐 𝑷𝒂𝒓𝒕𝒊𝒄𝒊𝒑𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝑭𝒆𝒆: The Curator Camp 2024 is free of charge. \nSupport Provided: The Japan Foundation will cover costs associated with inter-city travel in Thailand\, transportation for the program-related tour\, accommodation\, and stipend for food\, ensuring a focus on learning and exchange without financial burden.
