A collaboration between Sun Yat Sen Nanyang Memorial Hall and Three Gorges Museum in Chongqing, this special exhibition showcases new year prints from different provinces of China produced during the Qing dynasty and Republican period. Since the iconography of these prints was deeply rooted in popular beliefs and folk customs, a close examination of these prints provides insights into the rarely-documented attitudes and values of the common people in China in the past.
