TheaterCon is finally happening in the Philippines! A first in the Asean and a first in the Philippines! TheaterCon will be held from August 25 to August 29, 2020 in partnership with the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP). Workshops and presentation of papers will be held at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) while the theatrical performances will be held at the theaters of the CCP.

The theme of the conference is:

“The University Theater as Social and Cultural Agent”

The conference theme aims to explore how university theaters have and can affect social transformation, thus contributing to new knowledge production and acquisition for study and practice of university theaters.

We expect participants from various colleges and universities from the Philippines, from our IUTA member countries all over the world, and neighboring ASEAN countries. The five-day congress will feature a wide range of theatrical, cultural and academic activities. The academic portion of the congress will also have fora consisting of plenary sessions, breakout sessions, workshops and international performances.
